i have a 1983 ford ranger 2.8L V6. every couple of weeks my truck starts hard and runs like crap. it idles ok, but when you give it the gas, it sputters and dies. I've checked all connections, vent and vacuum lines and have cleande the carb multiple times. nohing seems to work. then after about a week, it slowly evens itself out and runs great for a couple more weeks, then eventually runs like crap again. so sick of it quitting. please point me in at least some direction.

 

check fuel filter and spark plug wires for looseness
