Default swapping out the motor

so dad and i bought a 98 ranger xlt. 2.5L with the 5-speed standard. Mom has an 03 Taurus with the peppy 3.0L DOHC V6. Could anyone tell me whether it'd be possible to put a 3.0L Taurus engine in my truck? I realize it'd be real expensive, but is it possible? The 3.0 DOHC motor has got some power, and if i could fit it into my shortbed reg. cab ranger, the ranger would be a little faster... lol

what do ya say guys? is it possible? or am I jus dreaming up a real expensive engine swap?

well dude anything is possible if you have the money and the know how. but as far as the basic stuff goes i dont think that it will work just for the fact that i think that the mounts will not line up. but it might be worth a shot. let us know.

Even if the motor and trans do line up.You still would have a lot of work a head of you.Like the computer electrical system is different. You would have to change the whole wiring harness plus the computer as well a the exuast. 94 4x4 ranger
