Default 2004 x!t temp gauge

2004 sport Trac XLT temperature gauge not working. It stays all the way to the left even when cold. Also the battery gauge is the same pegged all the way over to the left. The mileage readout is digital but it flashes on and off. I'm not sure what will cause this. Any ideas will be appreciated.

All 3 at the same time? Intermittently or continuously?
There should be DTC trouble codes, not necessary a check engine light, so find a capable scanner and scan then let us know what you have. Without that I can't submit a couple thousand pages pdf here, need to narrow that down a bit.

Until you get a scan tool, you might check any fuses that protect the gauges and that info is located in your owner's manual in the specifications section.

If all is well there, I suspect there is a break/poor connection with power or ground connections within the vehicle The voltmeter on the dash is supplied with power directly from the battery when the key is turned on.
The easiest thing to do first is to check all the ground connections starting with the ground from the battery negative post to the vehicle sheet metal.
Keep in mind , just looking at them does NOTHING ! The connection has to be removed , cleaned and reinstalled.
Would appreciate it if you get back to us to let us know what you find, thanks.

Which item, 2 + 7 + 8 or 6 + 7 + 8?
Temperature gauge should be all the way left when cold.

The codes that were there were P0053,heater resistance bank 1 sensor 1 and P2195,o2 sensor signal biased, stuck lean bank 1 sensor1. That is all that came up.

Those 2 codes are 2 good reasons to replace that oxygen sensor..
Who will be doing the work?

I have replaced all oxygen sensors along with the catalytic converters due to theft. I still have one sensor to connect to the wiring harness. I have to remove right front wheel to get to that one so it hasn’t been hooked up yet. I’ll get it this week and then reset all the codes. Then I’ll recheck in a few days.

A little curious , if you don't mind, if you rep[laced any oxygen sensor with the correct sensor , the plugs should match and no problem making the connection

Why couldn't you finish the job ? Where did you get the sensors ?
