Default 09 Taurus headlight assembly adjustment and replacement

Within the last 2 months the headlight adjustment has dropped such that when I switched to high beams they were no greater than low beams. When on low beam they barely light up the road in front of the car . I would run down the road with a high beams on and no one would flash me. I had them adjusted and was told that they were adjusted to the maximum setting. However still no resolution. I checked them yesterday and found that the adjustment screw on both of them snapped off. Which to me means they were frozen when adjusted and snapped off. I managed to get some adjustment by loosening the screw at the top of the assembly and pushing them in. However, they are still not correct. What is the procedure to remove those headlight assemblies? I've gone online several times and I've only been able to find for earlier models and 2010 and older. Also, my 2002 E350 had the same problem and I was able to take some adjustment rods off and another set of headlights and replace them. I really don't want to spend $300 a piece for assemblies that are in good shape other than the adjustment screws are bad.I would like to take the assemblies out and see if I can repair them. Thank you, any help would be greatly appreciated. Especially on removing the assemblies.

A phone call to one or two salvage yards and they could most likely tell you if they have what you are looking for . Purchase one of the used assemblies and examine it carefully and if frozen you can free up what you need and use what you need.. It's a lot cheaper than buying a complete assy that you may not need.

Some places will sell only the adjustment parts, but you need to shop around to find them.
You might also inquire at a local body shop , they might direct you to where they get some of their special parts.
