1990 sable axod transmission fit in a 89 taurus with an axod transmission?

I have a 1989 ford taurus with a 3.0 litre engine and an axod transmission. Will a transmission out of a 1990 mercury sable with a 3.0 litre engine fit in the 89 taurus or not? Any help is appreciated thanks[:-]
