Default 2001 ford taurus overheating

Hi I have a 2001 ford taurus that's over heating, the water pump has been replaced and there isn't any leaks, some of the lines from the over flow to the radiator were clogged and I flushed them out. The radiator will drain out the bottom but it remains cool while the motor overheats.

if the upper rad hose is cold while the engine overheats....your thermostat is probably stuck closed. Get a ford oem thermostat.

OP, if you're interested in a thermostat I have listed a few below:

3.0L 12V: YF1Z-8575-BA (#YF1Z8575BA: Thermostat.)
3.0L 24V: F8RZ-8575-BA (#F8RZ8575BA: Thermostat.)

I'm going out on a limb here, but could it be that much of the parts available here come from chow mien land and are not as good as the parts we used to get from Canada?
