Default Dash brake light

I was wanting to know if anyone could help me out with my dash board brake light staying on ? I have a 2002 Taurus and I unplugged the low brake fluid level sensor and the light goes out. Plug it back in and the light comes on. The reservoir is full. I replaced the sensor but it didn't fix it. I also checked the parking brake to make sure it was good. Took it to a shop and they told me it was something to do with the ABS and they don't mess with that. Any suggestions ???
Thanks, Ken

Please tell us what you did when you stated, "checked the parking brake"?

I unplugged the fluid level sensor to make the light go out then I pushed the parking brake down. The light came on and when I released it the light went out.

You might check the floating magnetic piece in the master cyl. It could be stuck in the low position and not allowing the sensor to open. I don't remember if that sensor could go in both ways. If so could it be getting installed upside down?

I slid the sensor out of the master cylinder leaving the electrical connection hooked up and the light still didn't go out.
