noise around the water pump

noise around the water pump
I just bought a car one week ago. I took it to the mechanic, and it had nothing wrong with it at that time. (2004 Ford Taurus)
Yesterday, when I started it, itsuddenly had some grinding whish-whish-whish NOISE. The noise is coming from the position around the water pump. But when I drive it for several miles, the noise will only come out when I push the accelerator.
Is these might be some other problems rather than that the belts may be simply getting hard or the pulleys are out of line.
