ok is there anyone out there that can tell me if there is a relay or fuse somewhere between the ignition switch and the inertia switch? Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place .

Cool , glad to hear you got it going , also their bad about having a problem with the connecter plug going to the top of the tank ,

see quite a few that the plug has melted from excessive heat from a bad connection, usually you can get away with just cleaning up the connecter an squezzing them a little tighter ,also on the ground side of the plug Ive found loose that will give you a intermitt start .

make sure you use some di-electric grease on the terminals
