Default AC CAUSES OVERHEATING!!!

I have a 1993 Ford Thunderbird 5.0. When I run the A/C, it causes the car to overheat. When A/C is not on, can idle, drive in stop and go traffic, or freeway, never any heating problems. All cooling fluids fresh and at proper levels, yet A/C causes car to overheat. Help me please!! I really dont know what could be causing this. When it runs, it is very cold. It just cause the car to heat up and over heat very fast.
Thanks.

Default RE: AC CAUSES OVERHEATING!!!

Hey. [:@]

Your air conditioner compressor draws more fluid from the engine blockto function correctly. This will happenat different times depending on the temp.out side. I have encountered this same situation and I recommend buying a 110* or a 120* degree thermostat so it will open sooner. If you have a 180* thermostat or higher, it can be extremely hard on your engine when your air conditioned kick in and over heats.Hope this helps.Singed birdlover[sm=americanasmiley.gif]
