braking causes pull to the left
I have a 2001 excursion V10 with 51,000 miles. It recently started pulling to the left. My mechanic has been throwing parts at it including new calipers on all wheels, new front brake hoses, new front pads, turned front rotors. It will pull you into the left lane in about 120 yards if braking at 60 MPH. It is real bad when pulling my travel trailer. All the ball joints were inspected and said to be fine. Tires were rotated - no change. Alignment is perfect. HELP!

Can you get the answer to this next question without ruffling the mechanic's feathers?
Did he replace the calipers only or did the calipers get replaced with new sliding pins.
If he didn't remove and clean and lube the caliper pins , the left front brake may be doing more of the braking work. It is only a consideration at this point.

The third repair shop I took my excursion to solved the problem. The lower left ball joint was absolutely shot. I had all four replaced. Very disappointing that I asked both of the previous mechanics to check the ball joints. They both told me they were fine. I now have all new rotors, calipers, brake pads, hoses, etc.

Is this a common problem with X's. I know of 5 including mine that does this. Mine doesn't have stock front and rear ends. It has been lifted 22' and has dana 60 & 70. The tie rods are wore out for sure and will be replaced next weekend.
