Default '05 Ford Escape Light/Blinker Issue

When I turn on the lights on my 2005 Ford Escape, the driver side blinker lights come on the dash and outside (don't blink, just turn on). When the lights are on, the left blinker does not work. When the lights are off both the blinkers work. It appears that when I turn on the lights, power is being given to the left blinker lights. Does anyone know what could fix this?

Other Things to Note:

The four way flashers work correctly when lights are off, but the left side does not work when lights are on.

Have you checked the bulbs? If the brake lights and turn signals use the same bulb, that could be your problem. If one of the elements has fallen across the other one, it can cause your problem.

The brake lights and turn signals are seperate. It is occurring on both the front and back lights...would a faulty bulb cause both lights to do this?
