Default 2003 4.6 Romeo timing

My haynes book reflects that the keyway on the timing gears should be at 90° to heads, If that is the case the colored link on the timing chain will not be in a line with the dot on the gear. Number one cylinder top dead center compression stroke, crank case timing mark at 6 o’clock. Currently timing marks and color links are all matched. I believe there was a thread about this earlier on but it went to a p.m. therefore I do not know the answer to the question sorry for the repeat. Also new to Web site. Can anyone help with my dilemmaIt is making me crazy

Default 2003 F150 4.6 L Romeo timing

2003 F150 4.6 L Romeo timing,
Haynes manual says Keyway, Colored link, timing dot Should all be 90° to the head.
unfortunately I did not do my due diligence and take pictures prior to disassemble, installed new chain, guides, tensioners, Crankshaft gear. All of the dots lineup The crankshaft at 6 o’clock and colored links on cam gear dot.
The problem I have is the dot is not 90° to the head as it shows in the manual. Can anyone PLEASE Shed some light on this for me. I have rotated the motor over 30 times I did not feel any interference. I did not have cam holders in place when I remove the chain and the cams rotated slightly counterclockwise. I rotated them back and installed the chain on the sprocket. But before I put the motor completely back together I would appreciate somebody letting me know in regards to the 90° to the head, And why they do not lineup. PLEASE HELP
