2003 f150 supercrew overdrive not working PLEASE HELP
I have a 2003 f150 supercrew with the 4.6 and the OD button is not working. I checked the fuse and everything was good. I also disassembled the column and inspected the wiring and everything looked good. The lights also work in auto mode with no problems. The last thing I done was checked continuity and had it on two wires coming from the overdrive button while holding the button in. I wish I could remember which color wires it was but I can't. I don't know if continuity is supposed to stay when I let off the button or not. But if someone could please give me some more guidance on this issue. Thanks a million.
Power from a 5 amp fuse in the central junction box powers the OD Off switch and light. RD/Yel wire.
When the button is depressed to the off position that power is sent to the Powertrain control module , pin 29. TN/WH wire
The PCM then grounds the wh/lg wire to the light to make it lite. If that wh/lg wire is not grounded anywhere between the switch and pin 12 on the PCM there is a good possibility the problem is with the PCM.
Always a good move to check the plugs on the PCM for any corrosion.
