Thought I'd ask this here before taking it in next month
My expedition about a year or two ago started having the A/C blow warm air, so we had it taken in
The shop we took it to had no idea what the problem was, so started with replacing the compressor.
We end up taking it back, paying for the replaced compressor, and living with it.
All fuses are good, and idk what all they replaced off the top of my head as I don't have the invoice handy.
However I suspect a TSB is involved, specifically the attached Image file.
Could this be the cause of my nightmare? I think it is but my dad says it isn't, claiming that the shop would have known about it. which I didn't even know about it until i did digging in ProDemand while in Auto Shop in HS.
Quite a few possibilities. You don't seem to DIY and fix the issue yourself so I'd suggest you to check the blend door position within your vehicle. Blend door controls hot/cold, when the door is stuck in all the way open position you get warm air only, not only that, say you can normally adjust your hvac to 85 degree max, and when the blend door is stuck, you'd get the same 85 degree regardless of what temperature to change the dial or the button to (changing it to 65 or 75 you still get 85 constant temperature).
The condition affected the field coil connected to the air conditioning compressor. and not the compressor itself.
This is an electrical problem and it does involve removing the compressor to perform the correction, which if not done thoroughly can result in problems.
We don't know if there other problems without checking and that needs to be done by the place that did the original work.
