2016 Transit Connect
Battery 6 months old. Alternator 3 months old.
Cables are tight
If jumped, it will start right up, run all day and go anywhere. But if you turn it off, it wont start w/out a jump.
Alternator is charging at 14v
This happened suddenly, was not a gradual thing

Hi Joe,
A few things for you to check,
1. The cables might be tight,,,,,,BUT Are the connections clean? The only way to be sure is to remove them and physically wire brush or scrape them clean and that includes not only the battery posts, but also the cable end clamps.
If the connections are offering high resistance the alternator gets that message and lowers the charge rate, but you will still read 14 volts and have a poorly charged battery..
There is nothing wrong with the rest of the vehicle, very likely only poor connections right at the battery.
Let us know if you need addl ,,,,,,,,,,,,,work to do ??? Thanks
