Unfortunately, this is what happens to vehicles that don't have rust protection applied and are driven where a lot of road salt is used.

If the vehicle is in a state where it has to pass a safety inspection , it will not pass if the inspector sees it.
The only fix for this is control arm replacement with a front end alignment. The condition of where the control arm attaches to the vehicle could also be affected.

This is why it is so critical to have a used vehicle inspected underneath because it can look beautiful outside and yet be in bad condition underneath.
