Hey everybody, first post here. I have a 21 explorer hybrid RWD. Started it today and the engine turned on and off multiple times followed by “stop safely now” error. Ford pass app showed high voltage battery warning. Has anyone else seen this before?
If your owner's manual does not provide specific directions for this, your choices are limited to having a dealership check this out.
There are not that many folks trained on Hybrid maintenance and the dealership is required to have folks trained so , that would likely be your best move.
Did you find out what the issue was with this high voltage warning light? My 2021 Explorer does the same thing and it’s at the dealer now but they don’t have an answer yet.
The high voltage battery provides the power to charge the 12 volt battery for the gasoline engine.
There is some problem with the high voltage battery system that won't allow it to provide for starting the gas engine.
You should not attempt to use the vehicle , but call your dealership and have them handle the problem.
That high voltage battery cranks out 600 volts and a set of manuals is absolutely no help with out the necessary protective equipment.
My wife was driving our 2021 Hybrid Explorer yesterday and got the same message. I could see it on my app as well. The dealer has it. They drove it and responded that it seems fine. I came across this article today.
