Default 93 escort won't give up!!

Hello everyone! Long time reader, first time caller!
I need some help from all you seasoned individuals! My 93 escort auto with 1.9 daily driver decided to stay running the other day even with the key removed! Now this is the second time I've had this problem! First time I replaced the ignition switch and it fixed the problem, but this time I've put 3 different new ones in and it still does the same thing!! Ive read everything I can and am yet to get another possible cause!
Can someone tell me what else it could be! Possibly ecm?
Thanks in advance for the help!!!!!!

To clarify;
Did you replace the switch assy or the key tumbler?
Some switch assys are adjustable with slotted mounting holes , Can it be moved to correct the position?

I believe the key tumbler is indexed to a rack that moves a rod that is connected to the switch assy. Has anything been disturbed with that assy to position the switch contacts in the incorrect position?
If you feel that all is well there ,you might try removing the eec relay . If it is sticking or something is holding it energized ,that would need to be checked and eliminated.
