New to the forum. Im not completly sure what this is, its some type of build up on my roof. I think it might be calcium or some thing. I have tried to use CLR but didn't work and also tried vinigar but didn't work. If any one has any ideas what this is or how to get it off you'll help me out a lot. Thanks.

It's not a build up at all, but is the 'clear coat' on the paint failing.. When the color coat is applied it dries to adull shine, not quite flat.. Then the clear coat is shot over the color coat to bring it to a shine.. It's called a 2 stage paint.. Not uncommon at all for the clear to fail..

 

I suggest you repaint it coz the existing paint is faded and dull. If you're thinking of restoring it, then on restoration process the car does need to be stripped off. So if you are needing restoration on your car it is important that you discuss it probably this with your repair shop before agreeing to have them do work.
