Default cooling fan

I have a 2000 windstar 3.8 v6. The cooling fan stays on all the time. Engine is not running hot a/c is off. Any one why it would this? Thanks

Have you checked the relay to see if it is stuck closed?

Default relay

I don't know where the relay is, If its inside the fuse box or outside in the engine compartment.

Go to www.fleet.ford.com then click on maintenance tab. Then click on owners manuals. Enter information for your vehicle. Then go to roadside emergencies (page 180) and search out the fuses and relays that are on your vehicle.

I went into the fuse block in the engine compartment and replaced the 50 amp fuse/relay that was for the fan. I still have the same problem. I think there is another relay for the fan somewhere. I am keeping the fuse out so the fan is not always on. Any other ideas? Thanks for your help.

Look around the left rear of the engine compartment. There is an auxillary relay box there. Here is a diagram.
