i have a 2003 ford explorer. when you first start up the suv or shut it off. the door ajar light is on and several lights inside and outside the suv stay on for an extended period of time. the electric lock on the driers side wont work until light goes out. what would cause this to happen?

 

Possibly a bad door switch. Does the passangers door do the same? Or is it just the drivers door?

 

Use a good penetrating oil and lube the door latches. Slam the doors repeatedly with the key on and when the light goes out, you know what switch is going bad.

 

my ranger did that... sprayed it with wd40 once and never again did i have that problem.
