Default Ecu

I have a 2011 fusion and it needs a new ecu apparently how would I go about that. Like can I send it somewhere to be fixed or do I need to order a new one? Ballin on a budget for sure so cheaper rout while not desired is my only option.... any help would be great!!!

How was it diagnosed as bad?
There are vendors that repair them, but if you can get the part/service number off of the OE one, you might be able to find a low cost replacement.

I'm going off what the previous owner told me. But I'm pretty sure they tried to take it apart and fix it themselves which they're in no way qualified to do lol. I'm still learning myself but the computer stuff is just over my head tbh
