Apparently? How can you tell. Your Fusion got water damage or what. If no water damage no power surge damage it's a problem with leaking capacitors which can be easily DIY fix it as long as you have little soldering skills. Simply remove the top/bottom cover and do a little visual inspection you can tell. Of course there are a million of ecu repair shops out there, just search google or ebay.

Please don't double post, doesn't matter if it was by mistake or whatever reason, you need to take care of that mess yourself. At the other thread, click edit -> go advance -> delete.

this is what I was told by the person I got the car from. Also I'm pretty sure they tried to take the ecu apart to fix it themselves not knowing what they were doing. I know better than to tear into things above my pay grade lol but the car is really nice and was very well maintained by the owners before them. All oil changes done on time and documented etc. I'm pretty much going off what was told to me.

I'd for the peace of mind just disassemble the ecu and inspect for possible water damage and leaking or blown capacitors, those are most common issues.
Let say you want to ship yours to a ecu repair shop from a particular ebay seller, they will ask you what problems and send them photos, if you can't describe the problem or if they see major water damage from your pics, they won't even accept your repair request. What ecu repair shops repair the most, the answer is replacing capacitors, 2nd is creating bridges to fix broken circuit and you get charged $100 for a 5-10 minutes work.
You buy a new or used ecu, you will need to add a couple hundred dollars on top for the programming and vin matching, if you don't have a capable scanner.

Ok I guess I'm just worried that I'd do more harm than good... but it'll be ok then to take the housing off??? And I assume that whatever part inside is bad will probably look burnt or a wire will be missing or broken right??? I'm still learning I just don't have anyone to teach me anymore so I'm looking to yall for help lol and thank you btw

Before you remove the ecu disconnect the battery ground and wait 10+ minutes. Like I mentioned previously most common is bad capacitors you can tell easily when it's bad. If something is burnt normally it requires simple cleaning or bridging. Bridging is to give up circuit connection say point A to point B and you create a new bridge using electrical wire to join connection of A and B. I myself have repaired more than 30+ ECU already.
Whether you DIY fix it or ship it to a repair shop, you will have to remove and disassemble the housing, you will be asked to take pictures. Say they charge you $99 flat they are not going to fix yours if it requires 5 hours, and gamble if it's at all fully fixable. They also won't take the risk to fix when they have to provide you some sort of warranty.

If there is a problem with the vehicle that might have damaged the ECU repairing or replacing it will only damage the replacement.

What is /'was the original,problem ?

The idea is to go after the cause, not just the result !
