First I'd like to say I'm new to the site so if I am posting in the wrong catagory I wouldd appreciate being directed to the correct one and I will remove my posting.
Engine 1988 351 Windsor (very low hours)
Engine turns over, gas to new carb, FIRES but will not continue to run.
This seemed to be an intermittent problem prior to date but has since become a 100% failure issue.
Checked voltage to and through ignition switch (new), battery, etc. All is OK. Cannot get any reading at the battery side of the coil where I believe there should be 12+- volts when the key is on? Perhaps this is the trouble spot and if you agree what could cause a disconnect to the coil?

The ignition switch you changed, does it look like this?

Take a piece of 12-14 gauge wire, and hook one end to the battery positive, and the other to coil positive. See if the engine starts, and runs with no symptoms you've discribed.
Let me know what happens.
