So heres the problem, For the past 2 days when I accelerate and reach about 30 mph and higher, the check charging system warning continually beeps on and off while I drive. It constantly goes on and off, even when I am not giving it gas, and never stays comletely on and I'm wondering if I need a new battery or if the alt. is about to go out, or what? Any ideas? BTW 2005 explorer xlt w/ 4.0 v6

 

It could be one or the other, as it is a 2005, I would take it back to the dealer under warranty and let them mess with it. If for any reason it isn't under warranty, take the battery to a pepboys or autozone and have them test it to narrow down the problem.

 

I will probablyhave to bring it in to an autozone or such because I don't have warranty coverage. I did buy an extended warranty but I don't know if it covers electrical, so I'll have to check. It alsmost seems like a short somewhere, idk, its strange
