Default Flex timing

I was recently gifted a 2012 ford flex non eb. My son was in the process of changing the water pump and just quit and bought another car. He has pretty much stripped all the timing components of the engine and I can’t get the left head back in time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If this in the wrong place I apologize, I’m new here. Thanks in advance

I suggest getting manuals or have a shop finish the job.. I cannot see how someone can offer much assistance just by reading your post and trying to visuallize your basket case.

Thanks for your reply. I should have mentioned that because it’s already torn down no shop around will touch the car or give any advice on fixing it. I have both the chiltons and Haynes manual but nothing about timing the cams correctly. I have the right side cams aligned at the 1 o’clock position and the crankshaft aligned at the 4 o’clock position but for some reason I can’t get the left side cams to the 11 o’clock position. I’m not a professional mechanic but have worked on my cars over 30 years but never attempted to do dohc engine.
