Ford uses a solenoid to keep the vehicle from coming out of park to prevent jumping into reverse accidentally. To get this solenoid to release you need to step on the brake pedal and hold it down to get the vehicle out of park. Are you doing this? hanky

So, if I'm getting this correctly, there are no brake lights when this happens? If so, that's the problem. If the shifter has been replaced, there is most likely a problem with the brake light switch, which needs to energize the brake lights to disengage the shift interlock. Fixing the lights will fix this. I would start with looking at the fuse to the lights for proper fit. Make sure it doesn't fall out or isn't blown. Also, check for loose connectors.
This is one of these problems that the dealer really shouldn't have a whole lot of problem fixing, as they would need to see it happen. But, since this is happening this often, it shouldn't be a problem.

i will have my husband check it out tomorrow...

Reminds me of what my mother used to say to me or my father whenever something mechanical would break: "Mark or Ed, fix it!"
The joys of being married or having raised a mechanic...
