Exclamation Ford lug nuts MAJOR ISSUE

Some Ford lug nuts installed at the factory were made with a shiny metal cap over the nut. This cap expands over time and when you find yourself on the side of the road with the ford provided lug wrench in your hand you may find that the wrench doesn't go over the nut, and you will wish you had a large hammer with which to beat the wrench onto the nut. My elderly wife found herself in just such a situation. Luckily it was a dry afternoon, and my plumber friend lived only a few miles away. After spending 15 minutes to get 2 lugs off, they put in a can of fix-a-flat and gently drove to a gas station to fill it with air.
The Service Manager at my local dealer professed no knowledge of such a thing happening before and so would not replace all of the nuts on the car. I told him I certainly wasn't going to allow my wife to drive around in a car that needed special tools to replace a tire.
The local Les Schawb manager told me he sees it all the time, and FOR YEARS has recommended that customers get all of them replaced when cars come in with them. Even did it for the cost of the new lugs.
I kept the old nuts and just checked them to find that NOT ONE of the lugs fit the wrench.
Youtube has several videos detailing this issue.
