I have a 2010 F-150 that is missing a keyless entry remote that I would like to purchase a replacement for. I much prefer the look of the Gen 2 remote for the 2012 and 2013 models to the older remote, but I can't find any information on their compatibility or lack thereof with older vehicles. If I purchase a Gen 2 remote, will it work on my 2010 model? If not, does any third party make a Gen 1 compatible remote that looks like a Gen 2?
