Default How to use a 12v temp sending unit on a 6v system

I have a 55 T-bird which is a 6 volt system. I found out that the reason my temp gauge is not working is b I have 57 heads which have a smaller temp sending unit andoperateon a 12 volt system. The new 6 volt temp sending unit I purchased does not fit the 57 head. Anyone know my options on getting this 57 12 volttemp sending unit on my 6 volt systemto work? I was hoping there is a rsistor or something i could add to make my gauge red the temp.

Thanks

you should be able to get a fitting from a parts store to screw in the head that you can screw the original 6 volt unit into.this would be my recommendation.
