Default Is leaking A/C compressor caused by overfilling oil and re-using old accumulator?

l have a 92' Ford Ranger XLT with 2.9 V6. Back in 2006 I had a new Motorcraft A/C compressor, relay, disc, field, hub, and switch installed.

A year later the A/C wasn't performing very well. A new mechanic discovered that it was overfilled with lubricating oil. Plus he said the original mechanic neglected to replace the accumulator and orifice tube, which is supposed to be done anytime major A/C repair work is done.

The new mechanic drained and re-installed compressor, put in new accumulator and orifice tube, and flushed and evacuated system

Then one more year later, the compressor seal started leaking the green dye. Is the leaking compressor seal caused by the first mechanic's mistakes: overfilling oil and re-using old 16 year old accumulator and orifice tube?

Thanks,
Dave
