Default oil capacity

I have an 1977-78 Ford 800 Dump truck with I think its a 477 engine, looking for the oil capacity. Dipstick tube was broken off and have since found the dipstick and no tube, but not sure of oil level without taking the pan off

I believe those used 9 quarts + 1 for the filter for a total of 10 quart capacity. Those engines loved their fuel (about 2-3 MPG), but they were tough birds to kill. Normally a 500,000+ mile engine if serviced properly. It was their weight and appetite that killed them off.

I will never forget how much fun it was to work on them in an "N" model Ford . They did have the power though !
