Default Oil leaked

Hey everyone, I have a 1995 ford f150 it's a 351 which is the 5.8 liter. Today my brother was driving my truck and I was in the passenger seat and we left my house to go to his party and we pulled out and then my engine shut off and it started to smoke under the hood so we got out and I looked under the truck and the oil had poured out and you could see it from done the street, I have no clue what it could be and was wondering if anyone could help me

Thumbs up

Welcome to the site..

If it instantly dropped a large amount of engine oil, might look at the oil filter to see if it ruptured at the seam/crimp, or sometimes during a service the old filter gasket gets left on and doubled up seals will leak. If the filter were left loose, it could have fish mouthed the seal under pressure causing a large leak. Not the only place to lose oil, but if you refill it and give it a quick start it should be apparent where the oil is bleeding from if in large quantities..
