Default problems on start up

I have a 97 ford ranger and the problem started a few months ago, when i start up the motor will not rev up to normal. It stays at a very low idle infact it will stall some times. Then after a while it heals it self for a few weeks. Does it worse when its cold. The garage checked the cold engine sensor and says its good. Im lost. Any help would be appreciated.

, Well first I would get a new GARAGE GUY !!!!!!, Sounds like the IAC , Idle Air Control Valve,,, Most times you can get away with just taking them off an cleaning them with a lil carb. cleaner, Just spray them out a bit get most of the black goo outta it, Also spray some where it mounts on the side of the throttle plate in the holes to clean them out , An it's good to clean the throttle plate itself if it looks nasty. I know they got that lil sticker that says NO-NO, If that dont work then you most likely have a wiring problem. Theres a slight chance your PCV is plugged up, There Cheap like $5.00 bucks if you should wish to replace it. Heres a web site for you , come on back an lets us know what you found ,

No, if its dieing because you open the throttle up a lil then, I'm guessing something like TPS, or MAP/MAF. but, cleaning the IAC can only help
