Default Replacement anti-freeze

I've got to change the anti-freeze in my 2006 Freestar. Can I use the Prestone 5 year (the one they say replaces all other types), or should I use something else?

Thank You,

Frank

Since you are performing a routine maintenance procedure which is good, why not continue and follow the owner's manual as far as the type coolant recommendation.

I agree on just using the one stated on the manual to eliminate any worries.

I flush and replace my antifreeze every 50K miles or 4 years. I have replaced the antifreeze in my 04 Freestar 3 times. I do a complete drain and flush of the old coolant and use the PLAIN OLE' green Prestone antifreeze. When finished flushing, I blow out as much water from the system as possible, then add 50% cooling system capacity of 100% un-diluted antifreeze. That way, all that needs to be added is water, even after the system is burped and needs topped off. Easy as pie. I've been driving on the road since 1974 and have never had a cooling system issue with anything I own or owned following my process.
