that is why tech's don't want to install aftermarket parts.

I know but they wanted to charge the person i'm helping 200.00 labor just to install that ring and felpro was only one available in town. Just glad the dealer finally was able to get one. They are making it sound like the o-ring is no longer being made. I'm hoping that's not true. At least it lasted around 130,000 miles on the first one.

The O-Rings that Ford uses are size specific, so most Dealers don't carry all of the variations thus the need to order and wait. Would be a waste of overhead expense. Even the O-Rings for the A/C systems are size specific for a lot of connections and rings from A/C KITS don't always work. The same goes for certain bolts due to thread size, count, pitch, what job it's for (may have sealer on the threads) and so on.
