valve springs

Default valve springs
I just replaced the head gaskets on my 98 windstar 3.8. Their seems to be too much play between the pushrods and rocker arms when the valves are fully closed. What could be the problem?

The hydraulic lifters are bled out and aren't pumped up yet.
