Default 1980 Ford Courier

no power to fuel pump. accidentally left the key on and attached battery charger. hour later I hear the fuel pump running. turn off key detach battery charger. Now when you turn the key on ... no fuel pump running sound and no lights come on (Dash lights) but the engine will crank. What the heck is goin on. Any help will be appreciated. If it doesn't start its the junk yard for her. Its got a lift gate so I'm holdin on til the bitter end. Thanks
