2014 F150 4X4 Front End Problem
My 2014 F150 4X4 is wearing the front tires very unevenly by cupping the tires across the tread. No problem with wear on either edge of the tires, just the cupping across the tread. The dealer says it is because I didn't rotate the tires often enough. They were rotated at 6,000 and now at 18,000. Front end alignment was also done at 18,000 (present mileage) with "minor" adjustments being made. Anyone else having these type tire wear problems?
Thanks, Hanky. I fully agree - I'm no tire expert, but after been driving for over 50 years, I don't recall tire cupping being caused by misalignment. I believe alignment problems usually cause excess tire wear on either inside or outside of tread. Bad shocks or out of balance tires would cause or allow tire bounce, cupping the tires. I will monitor the tire wear (like a hawk) on the front tires after this rotation and will be back with the dealer at the first sign of cupping on the tires!
