2016 Edge Battery Drain
I have a 2016 Edge SEL that was purchased new. With less than 7000 miles the battery went dead. The dealership replaced the battery under warranty. Then at less than 10000 miles the battery died again. The dealer kept the vehicle for 4 days but could not find the source of the drain, and I noticed when the vehicle sits in the driveway for more than 12 hours the engine cranks slow when starting. Any longer than that and it needs a jump to start. Something is draining the battery when all systems are off, but no one can seem to find what is causing it. If anyone else has had this problem and was able to isolate the cause, please let me know what the solution was. Thanks.
It's easy for me sitting here to say they should be able to find and correct the problem.
Sometimes the tech has a bad day and if you bring it back and ask if a different tech can check it out you should be able to get the problem corrected. There are so many electronic modules in the new vehicles these days and evidently one may be having a problem. Depending on where the problem is , the dealership has the proper tools to find those problems and sometimes it takes a while to pin the problem down.
You can always consider trying another dealer shop.
