Default 5.4L 3V Ford F250 repair or replace engine?

Hi all. I'm sorry if this has been addressed on here previously, I'm new to this!

I just bought a 2008 F250 Super Duty for my son's landscaping business. The truck had been sitting for a year and the guy thought it was 'blown up'. I got it cheap and figured it would be worth it even if it needed a motor. It has about 205k and the body is in great shape.

Long and short...the oil pressure would drop to 0 and the engine would rattle badly after about 1/2 mile. When I drained the oil it was about 11 quarts, super thin and had lots of water in it. Dropped the oil pan and removed (no small feat!) and it had a bunch of black plastic chunks in it (looks like the timing chain guides), a C shaped piece of steel (about 6 inches long). The pick up screen was absolutely jammed with bits of plastic.

At long last to the question...would you advise replacing the timing chains etc and figuring out where the coolant is coming in (head gasket? intake manifold gasket? other suggestions?), or replace the motor? Any suggestions of where to get a motor? I've looked online and see a couple of places (Fraser, Jasper). Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Vote for new engine.
The 5.4L is a decent engine but its requires upkeep and very quickly goes downhill if there are oil pressure issues. For a long life plan on changing oil religiously every 5K miles, replacing timing chain parts every 100K miles, replacing spark plugs every 50K miles.
Jasper does a good job with remanufacturing engines.

That is a lot of miles, but a remanufactured engine is the better way to go. won't be cheap, but will have all the latest modifications and also a better warranty.
