87 e150 fuel pump & speedometer die together
I'm not positive about any connection between the speedometer and the fuel pump(s), but I have seen where the driving gear on the trans tail shaft has become stripped and will no longer make the speedometer work on those 87's. If that is the case you can remove the driveshaft andrear tailshaft housing and replace the stripped gear . It's only held in place with a small spring clip. You will need to count the teeth on the gear that drives the speedometer cable so you get the correct nylon gear for the trans.
