Default 98 f-250 xlt

Hello all. I am having trouble with my truck maybe someone can help. I live in tucson az. When I am driving and the truck is hot or it is really hot outside, when I park and shut down if I try to restart it it wont. It acts like the battery is dead. Then I wait about 15 min and it will start again. Well this weekend I sprayed down the engine compartment to clean the engine. I noticed that the battery light started flashing about 4 hours after the wash. Then yesterday I was driving and the gauges just quit while I was driving. I got to my destination shut down it wouldn't start back up. I tried about 30 min later it wanted to but the battery was dead. well it finally started and this morning as well with the gauges working but battery light flashing. Could this be my battery relay, battery,or alternator?

please help.

I am still having trouble and when I say it is hot I don't mean the temperature that is fine it is just when I have driven a good distance.I replaced the starter solinoid, alternator, had the alarm taken out. could it me a relay switch or possibly my ignition switch?

Have you considered checking the connections from the battery to the fuse panels and even behind the fuse panel itself. So many things operate at very low voltages and the slightest poor connection will give all sorts of troubles.

Or, could this just be a defective starter, maybe?
