With all of the extra time I have (unfortunately), I've been taking apart my engine and trying to fix/clean everything I can get to. If I had a garage with an engine lift, I'd love to remove the engine from the truck and do a complete rebuild. This is a project truck for me, so it's perfect to really learn how everything works.
When looking at my throttle body, it has two nipples for coolant. From reading up on it, coolant passes through it so that it doesn't stick in cold weather. I've read many people just cut the lines, and cap the throttle body, but I'd love to actually fix it.
As you can see in my picture, the nipples are badly corroded. One is almost destroyed, while the other isn't much better. Can these nipples be removed and replaced? What are these things actually called? I'm not even sure how to search for information on them. I've added blue arrows to show where they are on the throttle body.
And I'd like to add a thank you to everyone on the forum. It's such a good place to get information.
My first question would be are you near any salvage yards ? I would suggest starting there because of the age of the vehicle you may not be able to obtain new parts, not sure.
