Default charcoal vapor cannister

I have a 2005 F350 that apparently has a bad vapor cannister. Im not familiar with something of this nature, so I have a few questions. Is there any means of cleaning one of these? Ive seen a couple videos where people flush them with water and air, cant say as I blame them, after seeing the price on one of these. If not and I have to get another one, I see a couple of pictures of the one I have up under my spare tire. The two are a couple hundred dollars difference. The more expensive one seems to have more hard ware attached, is that some thing that can be used on the less expensive one, are there any parts that are interchangeable? Just so I become a little smarter can someone tell me why when one of these gets plugged up, it affects your gas milage. Thank you for any help

As shown above OK button is not clickable because ENGINE is not selected. Check my signature below to see why.
If you have a 6.8L what's the 8th character of your VIN?

A little FYI,,

The charcoal canister is designed to handle ONLY VAPOR !!!
Folks attempting to squeeze all the gasoline in at a fuel fill cause liquid gasoline to get blown into the charcoal canister AND DESTROY it.

Normally, when the fuel shuts off at the gas pump, we should stop adding any addl fuel.
If the nozzle shuts off way before the tank is filled, there is a problem that should be found and corrected or slower fuel in speed can be considered.

Default Evap cannister

Would anybody know what the trick is to releasing the fuel vapor tube from the Evap canister and the Evap canister solenoid electrical connector?

at Vapor Canister Vent Valve / Solenoid Connector looks like a simple press down the tab and pull.
trick is to releasing the fuel vapor tube from the Evap canister
From page 3 of the PDF I attached previously:

Everytime you see "quick connect fitting" on Ford's vehicles they are pretty much one-time-use consider the age of your truck, so think twice before you attempt to remove. When it was brand new you simply squeeze both sides then push in a little then pull straight out, don't just squeeze and pull.

Would it also be the same procedure for the electrical solenoid connection? I guess I'm not dead certain what the tool is you sent the picture of from rock auto. Thank you

RockAuto is a good source to buy auto parts, not only that, before you attempt to remove a electrical connector, go there and locate it so you can see how the connector looks like on the bench so that you know how to remove it properly, just an extra step to minimize the chance you damage the connector.
I merely went to this page (based on your vehicle info:

The top pic I attached previously it was motorcraft WPT322. To see more you can also click on other 4 above.
United Motor Products CON10 for example:

If it's tight you can use both hands. Right hand to press the tab left hand holding a channel lock pliers to wiggle a little then grip and pull.

On the quick connect fitting you just need to remember to squeeze or hold firmly then push in then quickly (within 1/4 second) pull that straight out. The push in motion is to disengage it, then pull to release it, two steps. You are urged to have the spare tube fitting in case you break it, which is normal for any aged quick connect fitting. If possible attach a pic of that quick connect fitting to here.

Well as luck would have it, I managed to get the electrical solenoid connection unhooked and the vent pipe from the gas tank all loose before I read your reply. I would like to ask what does the dust filter do? Should it be cleaned somehow, it appears as though the lid on it is glued on so I've not messed with it. Now I've heard that you can flush the charcoal filter with water and air, or is that something you shouldn't do? I have the bracket and canister out and have blown air thru it, is that a good sign or not? I appreciate all your help!
