Dealer didn’t tell me I had remote start
I purchased a 2014 Escape in 2015 from a ford dealer. Salesman never told me it had remote start and didn’t include the remote start key. 5 years later I found the window sticker that listed a factory installed remote start. I went back to the dealer and was told I’d have to purchase the key/starter. Just seemed shady to me.
I would think you are correct, however, there are people out there that are always looking for something for nothing and the dealerships have to deal with this all the time.
I would be reasonably sure next time you purchase a new vehicle you will check it against the sticker.
No harm, if the same salesman is still there, maybe meeting them half way, might make up for what was overlooked.

That definitely feels shady, especially since factory remote start was already included on the window sticker. A lot of sales staff either overlook features or just want to move inventory fast. I’ve been using https://www.summitfordbeaverdam.com/ as a reference when comparing dealer transparency lately, and situations like this are exactly why detailed walkthroughs at delivery matter. At minimum, both original keys should’ve been accounted for back then.
