Angry Five Hundred Electrical System Failure at High Speeds

I have replaced 3 alternators on my 2006 Five Hundred SEL over the last two weeks. The first time I had a code for system voltage high P0563, Battery voltage low B1318 and fault received from external node U2023. I replaced the battery and alternator. Thought it was fixed but still issues. Everything works normal with street driving. Once on the interstate at high speeds everything on the dash shuts down. Turn signals, lights, windows and radio goes out and does not work pushing the buttons. Once off the interstate at a light/idle everything is restored tach, speedometer, fuel gauge, everything. Take a chance on getting it home but my travel time 55 miles on the interstate and six on the streets boiled my battery. Replaced the alternator again with the same symptoms. Any ideas what’s going on? Thank you all!

The alt charging control is coming from the PCM (Powertrain Control Module --Computer.)

If there is any bad connection (corrosion), the PCM gets false info and goes according to the info it receives.
A capable scan tool is required to see just what is happening, and not everyone has one.

Something you might check, make sure the heavy gauge wire coming off the alt to the battery is not with corrosion at any of the connections. This could give false info to the PCM that thinks the alt needs to put out more when the reading it is showing low. This of course will result in overcharging and cooking both battery and alt.

Thank you so much for the feedback. Any idea where the PCM is on this car? Maybe I’ll look into getting another one from a yard. Thanks again!

Thank you Hanky. If the wiring on the PCM looks good any thing else to look at on it. A number of you tubes video states if you disconnect the battery you should clear the PCM or reprogram it. Not sure I feel confident about doing that task. One video states you have to reprogram your keys. Maybe I'm getting them confused. Do you know if a fusible link is in the line? No corrosion on either end of the cable is apparent but maybe I should have it replaced anyway.
