HI i am new to the forum and i like what i see maybe someone can help me with my problem i have a 1999 ford r250 4x4 5.4 motor i put in a rebuilt engine and trans it was running good but one day it wouldn't start or even turnover i hooked up the ob2 and it would not read the codes it just said no link so i got a new computer that was programed to my vin # it did the same thing reads no link all my fuses are good my cigarette lighter works and the number 16 pin to the ob2 reader has power i just can't figure it out is there something weird about this vin number 1FTNX21LOXECO3120 i hope someone can help me i can hear the fuel pump running but the motor will not turnover or start Thanks Bill Hughes
thanks hanky for the quick reply i only wish i could check 4 & 5 ground as quick as you answered. i took the truck to the mechanic they can't figure it out but i will pass that on to them this next week sometime.i will post if it works or not to everyone on this forum
Would you recall just what the anti-theft light did when you attempted to crank it over?
My first thought as I read your description was , are all the grounds connected and clean?
I hope you didn't spend $$ for a PCM when you really don't need one.
Also does the vehicle have a std trans or automatic?
All these things come into the pix and somehow I feel it is something simple that is being overlooked.
