Thumbs down Front end grinding

Recently I had my Ford F-150 2016 in for service with a front end grinding noise while engaging front wheel drive. I was told there would be a $125 diagnostic charge. Since the car had 36K miles, under power-train warranty and also an extended service plan, I wasn't concerned with cost. After one week to replace the master cylinder under a new recall, my truck was ready for pickup. What I found out was the truck was not under warranty and my bill was $125 for the inspection, $18.75 for shop charges, and $3.46 for vacuum caps. While the truck was in for repairs I visited this web site and read other problems with an IWE system. So the dealership indicated under TSB 20-2307 that they "installed vacuum caps to permanently engage IWES, and does not effect any other functions". They just cut the vacuum line before the IWE solenoid. So I paid $60k+ for a truck where Ford spent 10 min. and $.50 parts to disable a drive system that I paid for. My mileage has never been higher than 17.1 mpg with my 3.5L eco-boost engine and now it is going to be less, since I am now engaging the jack shafts permanently. It is also disheartening that Ford has let this design flaw exist for so long. I will think hard before I buy another Ford product. They also conveniently stated this issue is not classified a power-train issue and therefore is not covered by any warranty. I filed a complaint with the dealership service manager and Ford regional customer service.
